Why We Should Always and Never Stay

“I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly away anywhere on earth, then I ask myself the same question.” -Harun Yahya

Sometimes you find yourself in a place where you just stay and exist. Stagnant, filled with doubts and no purpose. It is a frustrating place to be, an abyss where you just stop while the world keeps on running on an overwhelmingly breakneck pace. Excuses and faults, thrown around so easily, without realizing they crush dreams before it ever sees the light of reality.

For the ones who live in their own heads, ideas and limitations, don’t. Don’t stay put, because you would never forgive yourself for not pursuing the person you promise will be but never become. If you were ever to stay, stay away from the beguiling trap of serenity. Promise yourself to constantly be on the lookout for a new adventure, to let go from the fear you are holding on, to say yes, because when you look back, what good will ever come from holding on to that and not ever discovering the view beyond?

I met someone whose words stay with me long after and through many ordeals, or shall I say now, adventures. I still keep the note in my travel journal and I hope to pass on the note to you, too.

Burst the bubble, leave your nest, you owe it to no one but yourself to relentlessly pursue your dreams. See it come true, see it fall, as long as you stay to see it through. You’ll be glad you did.

Until next time, and I hope we always and never stay.

This post is inspired by The Blog Project’s Monthly Challenge. The theme for February is the word Stay. A day late for the submission, but still glad I¬†take on the challenge!
